Introduction: It is necessary to adapt didactic techniques that favor the achievement of skills in a virtual, synchronous or asynchronous way, in anticipation of socially complex contingent situations that make it difficult to attend, as has been the current COVID-19 pandemic. Objective: To identify the perception of student satisfaction regarding the use of Team-Based Learning (TBL) as an active and participatory methodology in emergency remote teaching and its relationship with academic performance in students of the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (UCSC) Medical Technology major. Subjects and methods: A pedagogical intervention was carried out in the Human Physiology course of the UCSC School of Medicine, in which the TBL was used as a method of supporting the learning of contents delivered in synchronous online classes in two theoretical units: renal and digestive. The collection of data on the perception of satisfaction was carried out through a self-developed survey. The grades were obtained from the academic record of the course. A descriptive-correlational statistical analysis was performed. Results: Acceptable internal consistency of the various items of the perception of satisfaction scale was found. Better perception was reported for the items of methodology and self-regulation of learning, with a greater positive correlation for those students with better academic performance. Conclusions: The TBL as a didactic technique to favor interaction and learning in traditional contexts, seems likely to maintain this characteristic that favors interaction and learning, when it is adapted to socially complex conditions such as the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.(AU)

INTRODUCTION: Academic satisfaction has been widely studied among university students, but there is little evidence of how teacher's satisfaction with training where they participate. The present study proposes the Pedagogical Training Satisfaction Questionnaire and analyzes evidence of its validity and reliability. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: 113 teachers of health degree programs were surveyed. They answered the Pedagogical Training Satisfaction Questionnaire, with prior informed consent. The content validity of the questionnaire was evaluated, and an exploratory factor analysis was carried out to analyze its construct validity. In addition, its reliability was evaluated. RESULTS: The content validity analysis left 11 of 15 originally proposed items. The factorial analysis identified a single factor in which the 11 items were included (Cronbach's alpha = 0.954). CONCLUSION: Results show evidence in favor of the validity and reliability of the questionnaire as a measure of global satisfaction with pedagogical training

Introduction: University teaching is central to understand higher education processes. Although human, attitudinal or personality aspects of teachers usually appear in West as central characteristics of a good teacher, there are no instruments to measure these personal attributes of faculties. Aim: To present making process of Teacher Attributes Questionnaire (TAQ) and the evaluation of validity and reliability of its scores when it is applied in university students in Chile. Subjects and methods: A quantitative, non-experimental and cross-sectional study was carried out. 595 students from six different health degrees and three universities in Chile participated in this study. They answered the TAQ plus a socio-demographic questionnaire, with prior informed consent. To evaluate validity of TAQ, an exploratory factor analysis was used. To assess its reliability, Cronbach's alpha was carried out. Results: Factor analysis identified two factors: teacher personal attributes (Cronbach's alpha = 0.98) and teacher formal attributes (Cronbach's alpha = 0.60). Both were statistically correlated. Conclusions: Present study shows evidence that support validity and reliability of TAQ as a tool to measure in a differentiated way the personal and formal attributes of teachers, although it is necessary to deepen the response validity process and improve reliability of formal teacher attributes factor

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Self-efficacy refers to people's expectations about personal resources available for goal achievement. Higher self-efficacy expectations are correlated with higher academic performance. AIM: To analyze the psychometric properties of the Academic Behavior Self-Efficacy Scale (ABSES) and to describe Self-efficacy expectations of students from health-related careers. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A non-probabilistic sample of 479 first- and second-year students from Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Nutrition and Medical Technology in a public university in Chile, answered the ABSES. Results were analyzed by Exploratory Factor Analysis and its reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha. Also a descriptive analysis and a non-parametric relational analysis were performed. RESULTS: Two factors were identified: Attention and Participation. Attention obtained significantly higher scores than Participation (p < 0.001). Compared to their second-year counterparts, first year students had higher scores in Attention (p < 0.001) and Participation (p < 0.01). Medicine students had higher scores in Participation than students from other careers. CONCLUSIONS: A two factor solution was identified for ABSES. Surveyed students had a predominantly passive Self-efficacy, focused in attention. Also, a reduction in self efficacy was noted among second year students.
